Many Americans have likely forgotten about Tim Walz by now. He’s the governor of Minnesota and the person Kamala Harris picked as her running mate before the pair were soundly defeated by President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance last November.
Harris and Walz—but especially Walz—repeatedly tried to position themselves as knowledgeable gun owners, but their actions said otherwise. So perhaps it makes sense that Walz decided to throw his support behind anti-gun zealot David Hogg to be Vice Chair of the Democratic National Committee.
“After campaigning with David throughout the country, I know firsthand his unique ability to connect with the American people and to speak to the strengths of our party,” said Walz. “This is exactly what we need right now: experienced, thoughtful, and energized leadership that meets people where they are and takes bold action to win. I couldn’t be happier to throw my support behind him and his vision for the party, and I look forward to working with him every step of the way.”
As the NRA Institute for Legislative Action (ILA) has reported, Hogg is someone whose “star power” has diminished, but is now seeking a return to the limelight.
“As Walz prepares to head back into obscurity, perhaps he thinks he can help yank this young man out of it,” reported NRA-ILA.
