The Armed Citizen

On the evening of Nov. 7, 2024, a 22-year-old was driving his motorcycle in Glen Burnie, Md., when he noticed a vehicle tailgating him. The tailgater then pulled up alongside the motorcyclist and began shouting at the 22-year-old, and then veered his vehicle toward the motorcycle, nearly causing a wreck. The motorcyclist pulled over, but so did the other driver. The erratic driver got out of his car and rushed toward the motorcyclist while wielding a hammer. The motorcyclist, who had a concealed-carry permit, drew his firearm and fatally shot the aggressor. (wusa9.com, Washington, D.C., 11/8/24)

In Chicago, Ill., on Nov. 22, 2024, a man approached a food vendor and apparently began arguing with him for unreported reasons. The argument soon escalated into a fight, and the man pulled out a gun. The vendor, however, was also armed, and fired at the assailant as they struggled, taking a wound in his own arm but striking the aggressor numerous times, ultimately killing him. The investigation remained open. (fox32chicago.com, Chicago, Ill., 11/23/24)
