Taurus has just announced the release of its first full-sized, G-series pistol, the G3. It is a 9mm striker-fired polymer-frame pistol with a steel slide, 4-inch barrel, and 10-, 15-, and 17-round magazines available.

NRA American Rifleman’s Editor in Chief, Mark Keefe reviewed the Taurus G3. He noted, “The grip frame has stippled panels that help keep the gun in the hand, and the circumference of the frame is thinner than quite a few other guns in this class, which small-handed shooters will appreciate.” It measures about 1 inch wide, not counting the left-mounted manual safety.

The gun also has a separate safety inside the trigger blade, a striker block, white 3-dot sights, a 6-pound trigger, and an integrated Picatinny rail.

Its suggested retail price starts at $345, depending on the model configuration, and the announcement comes with a chance to win it and several accessories.

“Even in a very crowded market of personal-protection handguns, I believe it will make its mark, “ Keefe said. “The ergonomics of the frame and shootability of the gun impressed me.”
