Pierre Phurcien, owner of a grocery store in Lehigh Acres, Fla., says that he initially thought the masked man in his business was a kid playing a prank. “He came right here, and he pulled a gun and said give me the money,” the businessman told NBC-2. “Then I pulled my gun out, and I asked him what kind of money, then he start to run away.”

Phurcien says that he always carries his concealed handgun in public: “All the time. That’s my best friend.” He had never been robbed previously, but he proved to be more than ready to face the threat.
