Senior Citizen Fights Off Home Intruder

posted on September 12, 2016

A 70-year-old Tijeras, N.M., man was attacked by a home intruder last Thursday afternoon. Fortunately, his firearm made him more than a match for his younger attacker.

According to local media reports, a man broke into the senior citizen’s home and started attacking him with a hockey stick. He suffered severe head injuries, but managed to shoot and kill his attacker during the melee.

“Good for him,” neighbor Szonja Johnson told KRQE. “That’s awesome that he was able to think that fast and he was able to protect himself. He’s an elderly guy so, that’s a pretty big thing to survive.”
