A recent report at the New Hampshire Political Buzz website points out the incredible hypocrisy of the American Medical Association’s push to declare “gun violence” a medical “crisis.”
The AMA claims murder is an “epidemic,” pointing to some 30,000 annual “gun violence” deaths a year as proof. What they don’t tell you is that two-thirds of those deaths are suicides—no doubt tragedies, but not what most would consider to be “gun violence.”
They also don’t tell you that medical malpractice results in 20 to 40 times more deaths each year than the 10,000 “gun violence” deaths remaining after suicides are subtracted. According to many studies, medical malpractice results in the deaths of between 200,000 and 400,000 people every single year, and that number isn’t going down. Perhaps a healthy dose of, “Physician, heal thyself,” is in order before the AMA tries to twist criminal violence into a “medical” problem.
