Pennsylvania AG Convicted Of Perjury, Criminal Conspiracy

posted on August 22, 2016

We’ve detailed before how several members of Michael Bloomberg’s so-called Mayors Against Illegal Guns organization turned out to be criminals themselves. So it should come as little surprise that a state attorney general who Bloomberg spent hundreds of thousands of dollars to help get elected has resigned after being found guilty of numerous criminal acts.

Pennsylvania AG Kathleen G. Kane resigned last week after a jury found her guilty of perjury, criminal conspiracy and several other charges related to the abuse of her position. According to NRA-ILA, Kane coordinated a leak of confidential grand jury materials to the media in order to discredit a rival; the conviction for perjury was the result of Kane’s attempt to cover up her illicit behavior.

Kane ran for attorney general in 2012 with the backing of billionaire Bloomberg, who financed a $250,000 ad campaign against Kane’s opponent. In December 2012 Attorney General-Elect Kane added her name to a letter signed by a handful of attorneys general that opposed federal Right-to-Carry reciprocity legislation.
