NRA-ILA’s Chris W. Cox Advocates For National Reciprocity On NRATV

NRA-ILA Executive Director Chris W. Cox sat down with NRATV’s Grant Stinchfield on Monday to attest that the NRA is making aggressive moves towards restoring Second Amendment freedoms that have been eroded over the past eight years. “All it takes is a little bit of a political backbone,” Cox said. “That’s been nonexistent under this Justice Department and under this administration.”

According to Cox, one of the first steps toward making America great again is ensuring national Right-to-Carry reciprocity—in other words, “federal recognition that allows for people who have a legal right to carry a firearm, to carry it anywhere they have a legal right to be.”

Stinchfield and Cox also reminded lawmakers that the freedom to defend one’s self is a God-given right. “If you don’t want to own a gun, don’t buy one, but don't suggest or legislate my ability to protect myself and my family," Cox said. “These aren’t new ideas or concepts. Anything in your ability to defend yourself and protect yourself from criminal attack is morally right.”

While Cox reiterated that an arduous fight still lies ahead, he is optimistic about the momentum fueled by NRA supporters. “We can get it done if the American people and all of our supporters all across the country demand it,” he emphasized.
