In an exchange reported by BearingArms.com, HBO representatives denied claims by firearm designer Jim Sullivan that his interview on “Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel” was deceptively edited to change the context of his comments.

HBO’s Greg Domino provided a statement from spokesman Ray Stallone that included what he called “the unedited exchange between our correspondent, David Scott, and Mr. Jim Sullivan” that aired on an episode called “AR15: Modern Sporting Rifle.” However, HBO pointedly refused to provide the actual, unedited video of the interview, effectively asking viewers to take their word.

Coming on the heels of Katie Couric’s admission to creatively editing her anti-gun pseudo-documentary “Under the Gun,” HBO should know that their word is not going to be good enough. But, given that their feature on the AR-15 is an outrageously biased and unapologetically ignorant hit piece on the most popular rifle in America, their position is certainly understandable.
