Facebook Gun Forums Move To New Sites

posted on February 5, 2016

As we noted on Wednesday, gun-control advocates including President Barack Obama have enthusiastically applauded Facebook’s decision to ban gun owners from advertising guns on the social media behemoth. As Tom Blumer of NewsBusters points out though, enforcement of this ban will consist entirely on tips from snitches. Yes, Facebook is planning to rely solely on its vast network of users to report any violations. Meaning that, in essence, Mark Zuckerberg immediately ingratiated himself to gun-control groups around the world without spending a penny.

In the meantime, thousands of gun-related groups—some having as many as tens of thousands of members—have been shut down since Facebook’s ban announcement. These gun enthusiasts are now working on migrating their sites to other social networks where they can resume discussions of guns, including what firearms they might wish to sell. In other words, they’re simply resuming their law-abiding activities on a different platform—no thanks to Zuckerberg and his gun-ban cronies.
