posted on February 24, 2016

A Florida liquor store clerk is alive today because he owned a firearm and knew how to use it when the chips were down.

According to local media reports, 57-year-old William Morris was working the counter at a liquor store in Tampa, Fla., when two men wearing ski masks and hoodies entered the store and pointed guns at him. Morris pulled out his own gun and exchanged gunfire with one of the armed robbers, Cody Bolesta, killing him on the spot.

Morris was uninjured in the gunfight. Police are still working to locate the second armed robber, who fled the scene when the shooting started.
