We told you recently about Brevard County, Fla., Sheriff Wayne Ivey suggesting that citizens carry guns to protect themselves from attack. Now another Sunshine State Sheriff is making similar suggestions to help keep his constituents safe.
Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd is advising citizens to get licensed and carry a firearm for self-defense.
“If you’re not afraid of a gun, get one,” Judd told ABC Action News. “Become proficient. Get a concealed firearms license and carry it. And if you need to shoot somebody, shoot them a lot.”
Judd said most criminals don’t expect resistance. “The armed assailant doesn’t plan on you fighting back,” Judd continued. “He plans on having a gun, doing all the shooting, and you’re just the sitting duck. Well, the ducks need to shoot back.”
