Vice President Kamala Harris said that confiscation is not coming, despite the fact that this statement runs directly counter to President Joe Biden’s agenda.

“Stop pushing the false choice that this means everybody’s trying to come after your guns, that is not what we’re talking about,” said Harris.

Biden’s own 2020 campaign website, meanwhile, stated a clear desire to reinstate the Federal Assault Weapons Ban of 1994, to ban “high-capacity” magazines, and to tax and register those semi-automatic rifles, handguns, and shotguns currently owned by expanding the National Firearms Act to include them. Beyond this, he plans to implement a “buy back” of these firearms and magazines. Another word for all of this is “confiscation.”

As America’s 1st Freedom previously reported that “though [Biden] says he wants to ban and ‘buy back’ semi-automatic firearms, he also says he wants to ‘pursue legislation to regulate possession of existing assault weapons under the National Firearms Act.’ To accomplish this even theoretically, the government would need a registry of gun owners—and as history has shown again and again, registries lead to confiscation.”

Harris, though, is now saying that the idea of the Biden administration coming for your firearms is “false.”

Not only do her words go against Biden’s proposed agenda, in fact, they also cut against her own plans from the campaign trail of her failed presidential run and her Second Amendment record

Harris campaigned for the presidency on a platform that was staunchly anti-gun. She wanted the same bans that Biden now desires, and supported a repeal of the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act; a goal Biden also shares. She even promised to take executive action on gun control within her first 100 days in office if Congress did not. Coincidentally, it was Biden who said she could not do this during a presidential primary debate. Harris simply laughed at him in response.

Never mind that Biden himself has issued an exorbitant number of executive actions since taking office and his press secretary is now floating the notion that Biden will take action on gun control via executive fiat.

Vice President Harris’ remarks that nobody is “trying to come after your guns” rings rather hollow, considering that is exactly what she and President Biden have previously called for. Americans should be wary of elected officials who peddle falsehoods about what they intend to do with your constitutional rights.
