The NRA is seeking applications from our nation’s brightest, freedom-loving student leaders who are interested in coming to Washington, D.C., and representing their home states at its 2020 Youth Education Summit (Y.E.S.).

The Y.E.S. program is open to high school sophomores and juniors across the nation who want to experience an unforgettable week in our nation’s capital—developing as leaders, learning about U.S. history and politics, and creating friendships that will last a lifetime. Students are given the opportunity to explore and strengthen their passion for the American government and the U.S. Constitution—encouraging them to become more active citizens and empowering them to be proactive voices for the Second Amendment in their communities.

“I have deeper pride in my roots as an American, I have a better appreciation of the differences and similarities between people in this nation, and I now have a family with members from across this blessed nation,” said Caitlyn Callaway, who represented Texas at the 2017 summit, when describing her life-changing experience with Y.E.S.

Attendees also compete for up to $60,000 in college scholarships, which will be awarded at the end of the summit. Students are judged on speeches and debates held during the summit,
and their overall participation throughout the week. Entry into the program requires submission of a completed application form, a high school transcript, a three-page essay on the Second Amendment, a personal statement and three letters of recommendation.
