No longer content to confine her misguided gun-control views to the podium, Democratic presidential front-runner Hillary Clinton has taken to the airwaves. Clinton’s new television ad—a minimalist 30-second spot titled “Together,” airing in Iowa and New Hampshire—sees Clinton intoning ominously, “We’re better than this. We need to close the loopholes and support universal background checks. How many people need to die before we actually act—before we come together as a nation?”
Music and visuals aren’t all that’s missing from Clinton’s ad. Also absent is any explanation of how forcing law-abiding people to jump through hoops to obtain firearms will have any effect on crime. When you consider that even Clinton knows most criminals won’t dutifully stand in line for background checks, it becomes clear who she’s actually targeting.
Perhaps it’s coincidence that this ad was announced almost exactly a month after she vowed to take on NRA … but we doubt it.
