Washington Man Uses Gun To Save His Family

posted on May 7, 2016

A homeowner in Shoreline, Wash., used his 9 mm handgun to protect himself and his family from a home intruder early Thursday morning.

According to local media, the homeowner, his wife and two daughters were awakened about 2:50 a.m. by someone yelling and kicking their front door. The family heard glass shattering, and one daughter quickly dialed 911.

While the 911 call was being made, the homeowner took his handgun to investigate and found the suspect standing just outside the front window and door, which were broken out by lawn furniture thrown by the suspect. When the intruder began advancing toward him, the homeowner fired two shots, dropping the intruder on the spot. He is expected to be booked into the King County Jail for investigation of burglary after he is released from the hospital.
