Gun-hating movie producer Michael Moore, in what initially appeared to be an attempt at making sense in the gun debate, instead has proved the point that he is in favor of confiscating firearms from law-abiding Americans.
In a guest column for the “Hollywood Reporter” titled “The NRA Is Actually Half-Right,” Moore makes a logical point: “Unfortunately, even if we had stronger gun laws, we would still have a few thousand gun deaths in this country. That’s because we have a problem no law can solve.” Moore then went too far: “We will probably never be able to rid ourselves of the more than quarter-billion guns that are in our homes. But any effort to reduce this number would reduce the level of killing.”
Of course, any “effort to reduce this number” of guns already in our homes is, in reality, banning and confiscation. Good try, Michael, but we think we’ll continue working to keep our Second Amendment rights intact.
